Today we would like you to meet the artist Mahnaz Yazdani. Mahnaz’s profound and meaningful work often portrays society’s problems in surreal illustrations that tend to show how ordinary people (like us) suffer from things that the rest of our modern society seemingly refuses to acknowledge more often than not.
It could be said that we have probably gotten used to such problems just because we are always surrounded by them, so much so that we don’t even notice them anymore. However, things like war, the global pandemic, and issues that revolve around our mental health are not going to go away any time soon.
All in all, Yazdani’s work might give you a thought or two about the way we currently live.

“I am a storyteller who tells most of her stories in her comics and animations. I started my artistic journey as an animator and cartoonist twenty years ago. For years, my focus was on doing animation. Since 2015, I have been drawing editorial cartoons professionally. I had so many stories in my mind waiting to be created, but animating them took many years, so I chose the comic style to tell my stories faster.”
