So sad and true. Pets are family. They are a 15-20+ year commitment. Many people don’t think of this when getting or gifting a pet. And so it ends up on the street. They are forever, not until you get bored, or until they aren’t cute anymore, or until you move away. We have my Bella kitty because her previous owners had to move. The difference is they were responsible and took her to the shelter. She’s the most loving cat and I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

As for the picture of the parents said saying that they hoped for the kid to be more responsible, they should have taken care of the poor dog, not dump the dear bub۔We have always thoughts of our animals & pets as children!! They are members of the family just like humans! They need to be taught, loved, cared for & appreciated for the joy they bring to our lives!! It requires full commitment & should not be thought as a novelty or abandoned either! Their in our lives from young to old!! That’s the definition of what pet ownership is supposed to look like!!! They deserve nothing less than our best!!

#9 Animals are not just the surprise that you open, or are given. They are a surprise that is growing, living, learning, and will be with you until they grow old with you as you grow old. If you’re a caring loving responsible pet owner that’s the way it should be.

Before my parents divorced, A-boy (aka Adif, our dog) would often stick with me when I played on the Xbox. He’d come close slowly, lie down next to me and look at the screen. He’d bark back at the game if I was playing Assassin’s Creed and he heard dogs. I took every chance to reach out for him and give him cuddles…I liked having him there. (GSD. The biggest goofball ever.)Dad actually gave him away after the divorce. Now he’s at the villa of an old professor with two other dogs, and sometimes we get pictures and videos.I would have liked to keep him, but I’m living with Mom and we weren’t given a choice. Now I have a PS4 and sometimes I wish I could have the big guy here so I could hug him when I cry at the Kingdom Hearts ending.I’m gonna get a dog again someday. Or a cat. If it’s a dog, its name will be Riku or Rey. And it’s going to be from the effing shelter.
