Some comics are great summaries of a long-term relationship, but Bonnie Pang’s work is a long-term relationship in itself. The cartoonist revealed that her series IT Guy & ART Girl is completely inspired by the moments she spends with her partner, and they are incredibly moving.
Bonnie told Bored Panda, “I’ve been doing funny comics since I was young, maybe 6-7 years old, so I’ve been doing comics for about 20 years.” “I think my first comic was a spin-off of The Three Little Pigs. They had a restaurant there, so the wolf could come in and eat something other than the pigs. Most of my comics were fan comics from shows and movies I liked during my school years, but around 2013, I started creating original comics. ”
“For three years, I had been drawing cute cartoons in a heartwarming and wholesome style on Webtoons called Roar Street Journal. I had a lot of fun doing it, but decided to try other things. My fiancé and I just got engaged this year, so I thought now would be a good time to start a comedic relationship.” Dated.
“Even if all the characters in Roar Street Journal were animals, most of their stories were influenced by my own personal experiences. However, IT Guy and ART Girl are completely dependent on them. However, sometimes I exaggerate the details to make the story more fun. So don’t assume that every floor in the series played out the same way in real life!
The best part of making comics, according to the artist, is having complete artistic control and being able to communicate with the audience. “Even though I love illustrating books because it supports my family, I still do comics because they’re free. It is a platform that allows me to openly express my beliefs and feelings while connecting with readers around the world.”
“I thought no one would read IT Guy & ART Girl when I started because there were already so many great relationship comics,” she explained. “I didn’t expect so many people to connect with the series and the fact that there are so many other IT guy/ART girl pairings,” says the author. Thanks for taking the time to read!
