The princesses who star in classic Disney movies live in beautiful fantasy worlds, but turning them into dark and terrifying places doesn’t seem to take much. California-based cartoonist and character designer Jeffrey Thomas imagines what lovable Disney Princesses would look like if their environments were darker and creepier.

Thomas was not the only artist who revisited his childhood environment through the eyes of an adult; Dan Lovesey has also created a work that attempts to disrupt the environment around our fun childhood. If you like Thomas’ work, be sure to check out DeviantArt and his blog!
