Many of us have seen recreations of Disney characters, but an Australian artist named Shannon Lee decided to try something different by turning them into humans. And it didn’t stop there. The artist also created really amazing animal drawings.

Shannon told Bored Panda that she’s been drawing for as long as she can remember in a recent interview. “Apparently, I saw my mother’s painting when I was a year old and wanted to join her,” the artist explained. “Since my parents didn’t have any child-safe paints, they handed me shaving foam and told me to color the flowers blooming outside!” haha! They are a crowd of madmen.

Shannon claims that character design is her very favourite thing to do. “Thinking about who you want a character to be and then translating that into shapes, colours, and aesthetic choices, etc. ; problem-solving so that another viewer can get a solid sense of who that character is,” the artist continues.

Despite the fact that she currently creates a lot of humanised versions of figures, the artist said that she used to loathe drawing people. “I didn’t practise them because they weren’t enjoyable for me,” Shannon remarked, “and as a result, I ended up with repetitive “same face syndrome” drawings.” After seeing others do it, the artist began creating her own recreated versions of characters she admired.
