Interactive photo filters are everywhere nowadays, but Snapchat still never fails to entice us back with its innovative filters. Do you want to turn your dog into a Disney character? Snapchat will give you this opportunity even though you didn’t really ask for it.

Lately, the internet has been snagging this “Disney filter”, however, technically it has nothing to do with Disney because it’s officially called a “cartoon face” filter. But we are still free to call it whatever we want because the art style it offers is well known to most Disney fans.

Danielle Sugden is a Facebook user who recently discovered this filter and decided to try it out on her dogs, and the results she got were frankly very nice.

The filter worked amazingly on her adorable dolls and gave them exaggerated puppy eyes. The app actually only detects a dog’s eyes and gives them a whole new look. The rest generally remains the same, but the difference is noticeable nonetheless.

The app will also use facial recognition to allow for different facial expressions, generally focusing on the eyes. Even if the dog pumps or closes its eyes, it will recognize this change and apply it to the filter. The possibilities are endless given the large number of dog breeds out there.

I shared the results I got with the app on the Dogspotting Society’s Facebook group and was viewed by thousands of people, getting more than 14,000 reactions, 3,000 posts, and 5,500 comments in less than 24 hours. After that, several people in the group also decided to give it a try, and things got better.

People also figured out that this filter is actually designed for humans but thankfully, it also works on most dog breeds and that’s all that really matters. So technically, it should also work on cats and several other pets, it would be really interesting to see people try it on different kinds of pets.
