Disney villains are fantastic. Even though they’re doing all sorts of mean and nasty things, they’re charming. They’re so well made that we just love to hate them. And we hate them so much.
They’re giving poisoned apples to innocent girls, taking away the voice of poor mermaids, or plotting to seize their brother’s crown… You name it, they’ve done it. But what if we could look at them without the animosity?
Character designer Audrey Hopkins decided to go one step further and turn famous Disney villains into princesses. She wanted to make us look at them from a different perspective.

Gaston – Beauty and the Beast
Gaston is the key villain in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. He is a selfish and intolerant hunter who wanted Bella to marry him, even by force. He just couldn’t believe that she wasn’t interested in such a handsome boy.
Eventually, his obsession turned him from a harmless, self-centered guy into a ruthless killer. His anger culminated when he found out that Belle chose the Beast over him. He is one of the most famous villains in the Disney universe.
Hades – Hercules
Hades is the key villain of Disney’s Hercules. He is a God of the Underworld with a nasty temper and a big grudge against his big brother, Zeus. Hades devises a plan to take over Mount Olympus and the universe, but one prophecy says that a hero will defeat him.
Jafar – Aladdin
Jafar is the villain in Disney’s Aladdin. He is a Royal Vizier of Agrabah and the Sultan’s advisor. In public, he comes off as incredibly loyal to the Sultan, but in reality, he can’t stand him and wants to take his place.
Jafar devoted his life to finding the magic lamp and the genie who lives in it. Controlling the genie would enable him to take over the throne and the entire world.
Dr. Facilier – Princess and the Frog
Dr. Facilier (also known as Shadow Man) is the villain of Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. He is an immoral and persuasive witch doctor who plans to rule New Orleans using his “friends from the other side”.
He came from a poor family, so he came to hate the rich and successful. His biggest hate object was the most powerful man in town, Eli “Big Daddy” La Bouff.
Facilier tried to defeat his rival using voodoo and even offered the souls of the citizens of New Orleans as rewards to his “friends on the other side”
