Many artists were assimilated into their crafts since childhood, but Colombian painter Andres Colmenares began his artistic journey later in life. I arrived in Miami in 2008 to attend college, but no one knew at the time, so I started drawing cute animals as a hobby. This was crazy, and Andres said he wanted to study funny comics that others could relate to. However, he is always on the lookout for original themes and elements for cute cartoons. It’s strange, but sometimes my drawings of people and animals make people angry, the artist added. I tried to draw an illustration with reference to religion and politics, and it got tough. I just avoided both. It’s not a nice picture topic. When asked why he thinks Wawawiba’s animal cartoons get so much attention, Andres was quiet. I really do not know. I think I enjoy something that allows me to escape from reality. This is Wawabiba, and I want to create a space where I can have fun and forget about problems.

Keep skating and check out his funny animals, cute people, and funny situations he’s discovered!
