Everyone in society is under pressure to be somebody, to do something and anything else. However, this does not imply that those expectations are reasonable or that the pressure is justified. Who knows, maybe we are pushed to pursue goals that don’t truly reflect our real selves, or worse yet, we lose our true selves in the process.

If that’s the case, we may need to take the opposite approach. It is essential to continue deprogramming ourselves from things that are not true and, in some circumstances, dangerous. As a result, we must look for ways to heal ourselves from the effects of contemporary life.

That’s why it’s wonderful to have artists like Lainey Molnar who assist others in doing just that. She’s on a mission to point out all of the things that are wrong and right about being a woman in this day and age, and she does so in a really accurate and aesthetic way. While criticizing is a vital and challenging responsibility in and of itself, she also encourages body positivity and mental health. She gently tells us not to conform to social ideals that do not suit our natural needs, and that we are all attractive and normal in our own unique ways. There is no such thing as an inappropriate size, height, or habit. Everything is your fault, and you must acknowledge this first and foremost. And if the others can’t accept it, we’ll just have to live with it.
