Jordi Lafebre is an illustrator, graphic novelist, and character designer from Barcelona, Spain who has been freelancing since 1998. The artist shared with Bored Panda that he loves all kinds of art forms that involve storytelling. “I love telling stories.”

Lafebre revealed that as a child he drew all the time. He also loved playing with his toys, coming up with all sorts of adventurous scenarios, just like children do. This passion for storytelling has never ceased. He has a degree in art from the University of Barcelona and a degree in graphic arts from the Joso School in Barcelona, Spain. “My first concerts and publications were when I was 19 years old, quite young. Not much idea about the world or life, and I have been an artist ever since.”

The artist admitted that he puts his energy into creating stories, which he loves to do. Even with a simple image, Lafebre strives to reach the feelings of the audience, in a positive way. “I like to recreate life as it could be, with meaning and full of good feelings.”

Lafebre grew up in Barcelona in the 80s and 90s, which means that he watched all kinds of cartoons, animation and anime on TV and read comics at a newsstand. “I remember collecting prints and magazine pages with examples of classical art and studying them with attention and fascination. I truly believe that the combination of popular culture and classical fine art is what creates the artist that I am today.”
