Humans are developing vaccines in record time and planning to go to Mars but we remain cruel and cruel to beautiful animals that mean no harm.

German artist known online as Jenny Jinya has been addressing this issue for some time now. Whether she’s talking about orcas, parrots, or elephants, her comics remind us that unfortunately, all too often when the Grim Reaper comes to transport animals to After Life, it’s because of humans.

And this is no exception – the story is about a lone swan who had to witness the brutal destruction of its precious eggs. “I read about this a while ago and it still breaks my heart,” Jenny wrote when uploading the comic. “The only message I have here is not to be harsh.

These events took place in the United Kingdom in 2020. A group of teenage boys killed their unborn fetuses after throwing stones and bricks at them, and the mother was found dead earlier this week, shortly after the father’s swan disappeared, Manchester news reported.

“Although the incident happened last year, I read about it recently,” Jenny told Bored Panda. “Like everyone else, I was so shocked and angry, but also incredibly sad. For weeks, he wouldn’t let me go, I kept seeing this sad and lonely swan who had lost everything in my mind.”

Witnesses said the group was targeting the island where the swans had made a nest, leaving three of the six eggs broken.

Later, wildlife activists who were observing the pelicans said that more eggs were lost, and only one remained.

They added that the father swan left the nest and has not returned since. He thinks he was pushed out by stress.

The mother swan has been harassed by chickens, ducks, and a dog since her unshell eggs were attacked and she lost her partner. And soon activists found her dead in her nest.

“There’s really not much I can say,” said activist Sam Woodrow. “She probably died of a broken heart because she had a lifelong partner and stress pushed him away.”

According to Swan Lifeline, swans have been known to die of a broken heart if they lose their partner – swans generally mate for life.

The artist said that sometimes it is really difficult to imagine that one day people will be kinder to animals, but the comments and messages she receives from people who actively fight for animals every day always make her happy. “Whether it’s vets, shelter workers, or individual volunteers, this incredible, selfless commitment that isn’t in the news and isn’t getting much attention gives me so much hope. There are wonderful people out there and I applaud them.”

Although she remains productive, Jenny said that Germany, the country she lives in, is currently undergoing a second lockdown, and the pandemic has affected her creative process. “At first, I was still an optimist because I thought I would at least have more time for my comics during lockdown. But now I find it difficult to maintain a work-life balance when I have no other options than work. I try to keep myself occupied. Now into gardening and houseplants. Plus, my dog is always happy with all the extra walks.

People were really sad to learn this had actually happened
