Domestic rabbits are reportedly one of the most popular pets in the US, and this is for a variety of reasons. Although many people think they are easy to care for and make great “starter pets,” the truth is somewhat different. Rabbits cannot stay inside the cage for long as they need room to run and exercise. They don’t want to be picked on because they are prey animals, which is another little-known truth. If you combine all these details, you could surprise someone who just wants to house a cute bunny. Attacks on animal shelters over Easter even forced many pet retailers to stop selling rabbits ahead of the festival.
