Every animal deserves to be loved, cared for and respected. Regardless of how they appear. After all, it’s what’s on the inside that counts, not the scars we show the rest of the world. Unfortunately, the real world isn’t built that way, and many people can’t see past the “ugliness” of a pet and want to adopt a more desirable animal.
Jenny-Jinya, aka Jenny Hefczyc, a German artist, portrayed this heartbreaking truth in her comic about an “ugly” dog that no one wants to take home with them. The comic was developed by the illustrator as a way to discuss how often people just look outside.
This one, like all Jenny comics, has a surprisingly bittersweet ending. Take a look for yourselves, Pandas, and be sure to let us know how the story affected you. We know you really like Jenny’s work.
Jenny told Bored Panda in an interview that she donates money to animal shelters every month and most of her information about what goes on there comes from the workers who interact with her digitally. “According to the messages I have received, several shelters had a difficult year last year. Due to Covid, several organizations have not been able to organize fundraising activities, resulting in a lack of donations,” says the author.

Jenny created another powerful comic. This one is about how people treat a shelter dog that looks different than everyone else
We can only guess, in the artist’s opinion, why so many people are worried about the appearance of their future pets. “We all know that black dogs and cats are often overlooked for adoption because some people say they don’t photograph well. I have a feeling it’s less about the chemistry between man and animal and more about how ‘photogenic’ the animal is.
Stars who flaunt their ‘designer pets’ and advocate unhealthy parenting rather than adoption can also be a problem.”
As for the artist’s plans for 2021, she decided to keep things under wraps, so she said, “I can’t say much yet, but there’s a lot planned.” Not only in new comics, but also in print.” One thing is for sure: we can’t wait to see what Jenny does next.
Jenny’s comic, which she launched on Christmas Eve, was viewed by more than 254,400 people. The artist has 469,000 followers on Instagram and continues to attract new fans with her emotionally resonant art.
Her goal is to use her drawings to create worlds and tell stories. However, Jenny, like other musicians, takes breaks. Due to the sensitivity of the topics, the stories she writes require a lot of study, which can be exhausting. So, after launching a new comic, she takes a few days off to relax.
